Quality Technician 2nd Shift Position 2:00pm - 10:30pm Monday - Friday

This position is responsible for performing quality related functions related to Food Safety and Quality programs at a designated GFSI Certified facility.
This includes performing daily job duties as prescribed below:

  • Support operations departments in producing safe, high quality products. Verify adherence to product & package specifications and standards; familiar with testing & calibration equipment including weigh scales, moisture analyzers, sieve shakers, colorimeters, pH meters, to perform product testing and audit test results. Maintain and calibrate this equipment
  • Corrective Action Procedures. Help to lead efforts to identify and correct any causes of non-conformance in the manufacturing processes
  • Paperwork. Correctly fill out required process audits in timely manner and turn in to proper departments. Able to follow written instructions to ensure consistent quality monitoring processes.
  • Perform data entry functions for quality related tests as required
  • Perform HACCP checks as required
  • Participate in all food safety and site related training
  • Communicate to production personnel and management any food safety and quality issues.
  • Certifications/Inspections/Audits. Support the QA Department in achieving and maintaining Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification by assisting in the development, verification and validation of GFSI programs
  • Support Plant initiatives to continuously improve product safety, product quality, and quality programs.
  • Demonstrated initiative as a self-starter who works well with minimal supervision. Able to multi task and recognize priority
  • Perform monitoring, verification and validation activities to ensure that all products leaving the facility meet the facility Food Safety and Quality Plans
  • Communicate to management in regards to situations where deviation have occurred or a potential risk has been identified related to food safety and/or quality attributes
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
  • Understand and follow emergency action plan. ? Ensure the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements.
